EMF Safety Co., Ltd. was established in June 2000 as a venture company inside Dankook University with professors and other interested people as shareholders. In 2001, it was recognized as a venture company through an evaluation by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and in 2003, it was successfully recognized again as a venture company. In October 2001, it was designated as a developer of by the Ministry of Information and Communication. In March 2004, it was selected as an InnoBiz by the Small and Medium Business Administration. In “EMF Safety,” our company name, “EMF (Electromagnetic Field)” refers to electromagnetic fields or waves and “Safety” means the safety of the human body from exposure to electromagnetic fields. Therefore, “EMF Safety” means “safety of the human body from the electromagnetic fields generated by communication or mechanical equipment.”

In 2005, our company localized MagPos, which measures the intensity of extremely-low-frequency magnetic-field environments generated by power lines (high-voltage lines), and started supplying it to electric power companies.

In 2020, our company completed the development of MagPos-High, which measures the intensity of the extremely-low-frequency magnetic fields occurring in the vicinity of electric power facilities, and started supplying it to electric power companies. Our company has developed a system of measuring the SAR (specific absorption rate) generated by mobile phones and has supplied it to government agencies, universities, industries, and certification institutions. In addition, our company has successfully provided electromagnetic-field environment measurement services to National Railroad Administration, Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and other companies, and electromagnetic-wave policy research services to the Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Information and Communication. As the operation mode of SAR measurement was diversified, our company developed a high-speed SAR measurement system and has supplied it to many domestic mobile-phone manufacturers.

Our products and services are well regarded by the domestic government, private companies, and academia, and we have been exporting our manufactured parts to private certification companies in Canada.

We will further strive to develop innovative technologies and to ensure that our research outcomes will not only increase our company’s profits but will also benefit the society.
